Insight into Ayurveda :
When it comes to ‘Ayurveda’, it is derived from two different words, ‘Ayur’ and ‘Veda’. Here ‘Ayur’ means ‘Life’ and ‘Veda’ means ‘Science’. So, the term ‘Ayurveda’ implies ‘Science of Life’. It is much more than the medicinal system as it is the way of life. Ayurveda is the medicinal system, which deals with the physical, mental or spiritual health. We can say that Ayurveda is completely monitored or governed by law of nature suggesting that good health may be acquired only when there is harmony between mind, body and soul. Ayurveda is that science of healing which believes that our mind is constituted of 5 elements, fire, earth, water, space and air. Ayurvedic medicines are made by using herbal ingredients and traditional processes. When Ayurvedic medicine is prescribed to an individual, his emotional, mental and physical state is considered. The medicines do come in the form of tablets, medicated oils, powder and minerals, plants and natural herbs.
